Enhancing Cost Estimation

At ASML

ASML is a leading multinational high-tech company known for its advanced lithography machines used in semiconductor manufacturing. The company faces challenges in accurately estimating tooling costs. Despite utilising the designated system to monitor expenses, ASML has encountered frequent inaccuracies in cost estimates.

To address the project, the team first scrutinised data inputs and stakeholder contributions to pinpoint where cost estimates were incorrect. They then conducted a thorough analysis and stakeholder interviews to understand how existing processes led to high costs. The project concluded with a workshop in which stakeholders took ownership of the challenges in the cost estimation process. The workshop centred on implementing new methods and tools to ensure a more precise and accurate approach to cost management in the future.
